Four people were gunned down outside a Chicago nightclub during a drive-by. Reports say that the rapper known as Mello Buckzz was hosting an album launch party at the venue at the time of the incident. More than a dozen others were injured during the Thursday night tragedy.
The deadly shooting took place in the community of River North when a black SUV reportedly pulled up outside the private venue and its occupants opened fire on patrons in a drive-by. During the chaotic scene, bullets rained down on the crowd, catching many off guard as they exited the venue, according to CBS. According to police reports, the SUV quickly fled the area.
Authorities say the suspects remain at large. Among the 18 people shot were 13 women and five men, all between the ages of 21 and 32. Tragically, two women and two men lost their lives in the attack. Others were rushed to area hospitals, including Northwestern and John H.

Stroger, with at least three victims in critical condition. While the names of the deceased have not been released, multiple reports indicate that Mello Buckzz’s boyfriend may have been among those shot. The rapper, visibly shaken, later issued a brief statement online expressing her heartbreak and concern.
According to TMZ, the Chicago rapper posted, “Prayers up for all my sisters, God please wrap yo arms around every last one of them.” She added, “I’m f#!@ed up … all I can do is talk to God and pray.” TMZ also reported that Mello Buckzz expressed that she felt burdened by everything that has happened.
The statement also said: “Prayers up for all my sisters, God please wrap yo arms around every last one of them. We need yo, I need you … I’m f$#!ed up [sic] … all I can do is talk to God and pray.” There has been no comment about her boyfriend’s condition so far.
