A 14-year-old boy has been taken into custody following a violent assault on a teenage girl who refused to give him her phone number. The confrontation occurred in East Harlem, New York City, on Monday and has drawn widespread concern after video of the attack began circulating online.
Reports say the teenage boy encountered the girl shortly after school hours, around 3:30 p.m., along the intersection of East 107th Street and Third Avenue. The 15-year-old victim was walking when she was approached by the boy, who asked her for her number. When she declined, the boy obstructed the girl’s path as she attempted to cross the street. This led to a tense exchange between the two.
In the video, the boy can be heard telling the girl that he will “knock the sh*t” out of her. In response, a friend of his urges him to do it, finding the situation amusing. The boy orders the girl to stand still right in front of him, but she tries to go around him, and he drags her back. She later says, “Get the f**k away from me, p***y,” as she tries to leave. Despite her efforts to disengage and leave the area, the teen continued to pursue her.

Moments later, the girl is being slammed to the ground after the boy forcefully grabs the girl from behind. He stomps on her head once while she is lying on the ground in pain. After the attack, he casually walks away, leaving her on the ground.
Emergency responders later transported the injured girl to Harlem Hospital, where she was treated for a concussion. Authorities confirmed that she is in stable condition.
Police moved swiftly in response to the incident and confirmed that the 14-year-old suspect has since been arrested. He has been formally charged with assault and is expected to appear before the Family Court later this week.
