Two people narrowly escaped a tragedy after the vehicle they were travelling in crashed along the Spur Tree Hill main road in Manchester. The incident happened on Wednesday morning, two weeks after two others were killed in a similar accident in the same community.
The latest victims are an elderly man and an elderly woman. They were driving along the main road when their vehicle suddenly veered off the road and plunged over a precipice. The vehicle was badly wrecked when emergency personnel from the Manchester Fire Department arrived at the scene around 7:26 a.m.
The occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries during the crash, and firefighters had to administer C-collars to them. After the emergency team provided medical aid on the spot, they were transported to a hospital for further treatment.

According to reports, the vehicle could not be seen from the main road after it crashed. Police later went to the scene up to 8:00 a.m. Investigators were still working to determine the cause of the crash.
The Spur Tree main road has seen many crashes over the years. The road is connected to Mandeville. The path is usually traversed by big trucks that move slowly as they transport heavy cargo and cars, leading to traffic. The hill is steep and can be difficult to navigate, leading to many crashes, with some fatalities.

Just two weeks earlier, two people died while travelling in a cement truck that went over another precipice off the Spur Tree Hill main road. It is understood that the driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
The latest incident has renewed concerns about the area, and motorists are again cautioned to drive cautiously when travelling through the area.
