Beyoncé has been a victim of theft after thieves broke into her choreographer’s rented SUV and stole suitcases of valuable items in Atlanta. Among the stolen goods are jump discs with unreleased music, accessories, and gadgets. The incident has sparked a full-scale investigation.
The brazen robbery was discovered after the megastar completed one of her Atlanta shows in her Cowboy Carter tour. While fans were thrilled by the highly anticipated event, complete with Beyoncé riding a giant horse, the singer is now left disappointed.
The break-in targeted Beyoncé’s trusted collaborators, choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue, who were the occupants of a rented black Jeep Wagoneer. According to reports, the duo had parked their vehicle in a parking deck around 8:09 a.m. with some of Beyoncé’s possessions inside.
When they returned, the SUV’s rear liftgate had been broken into, and two suitcases were gone. What’s more troubling than the stolen luxury items is the sensitive content reportedly inside those bags. According to reports, police documents revealed that the missing suitcases contained laptops, high-end sunglasses, AirPods Max, and clothing, but most concerning were the hard drives.
These drives reportedly held unreleased tracks, watermarked music, show blueprints, and detailed past and future setlists. “Mr. Grant advised he was also carrying some personal sensitive information for the musician Beyoncé,” a responding officer noted in the report, according to the Chron.
Authorities have since launched an investigation and used Apple’s “Find My” feature to trace the stolen headphones, leading them to a location. While one person has been questioned, no suspect has been confirmed at this time.
The incident casts a shadow over what should have been a celebratory moment for Beyoncé and her team. Beyoncé has another show scheduled at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Monday night, which will mark the end of the Atlanta leg of her tour.
