A 16-year-old student claims he was forced to be intimate with a mathematics teacher after footage of them was leaked online. The 33-year-old mathematics teacher, Zvikomoborero Maria Makedenge, was arrested after being exposed over the weekend, and the teen was later identified by the alias Baltazzar the Second.
Baltazzar reportedly came forward to clarify the situation and directly blamed the teacher. According to social media, Baltazzar said he sought help from the teacher because he needed to improve his math performance.
He reportedly said, “I’ve been struggling with Maths, and she promised to help me understand everything quickly if she tutored me.” He claimed that she invited him to her Zimbabwean home for the tutoring session after school ended, to which he agreed. However, she allegedly took advantage of him after he arrived at the house.
“I agreed to the lessons… she promised me that she could help me understand everything in a short while if she tutors me, the first day I got there, she forced me to do it,” he added.
However, Makedenge denied his claims of coercion and stated that the incident was accidental. The secondary school where she taught has placed her on administrative leave while the investigation continues. She has also been receiving backlash online, where social media users expressed their disgust at the video.
The compromising video began circulating on the internet over the weekend, but the date of the lewd act is unknown. Authorities confirmed the authenticity of the video. Reports say that the 33-year-old woman was tutoring the teen outside of school when the incident occurred at her home. Throughout the video, which is nearly a minute long, the teacher’s face is not seen while the teen is completely captured.
While Baltazzar claimed it was the first time, police are investigating whether the misconduct was a repeated offence. Authorities have not disclosed the details of the case or confirmed the circulation reports since it involves a minor.
