Two individuals suffered critical injuries after a gas tanker almost ran them over on Monday afternoon in Mexico. The gas tanker truck, carrying over 15,000 litres of LP gas, careened out of control on a steep hill in Los Reyes, La Paz.
The accident, which was captured on surveillance footage, occurred at the busy intersection of El Cerrito Avenue and Bugambilias Street in the “La Festival” area. Along with injuring two people, the truck caused significant damage to at least two vehicles and property.
In the video, the massive truck can be seen barreling down the slope at high speed. The vehicle is clearly unable to brake as the driver desperately leaps out of the truck and can be seen rolling in the middle of the road while the gas tanker continues on its dangerous course.

Mere seconds later, the gas tanker truck collides with a pedestrian along the side of the road and rams into vehicles. The tanker slams into a parked white pickup truck, pushing it several metres before smashing into another cargo vehicle. Another pedestrian narrowly escapes when the tanker mounts the sidewalk and charges forward.
Additional footage captures the aftermath of the incident. Two men, one believed to be the driver and the other the pedestrian, are filmed lying on the ground. According to KrudPlug, emergency responders, including Civil Protection teams, rushed to the scene minutes after the incident. The two injured individuals were quickly stabilised and transported to a nearby hospital for urgent care. Their current conditions have not been disclosed.
Following the crash, authorities quickly secured the area to prevent possible leaks or explosions, given the high volume of LP gas the truck was transporting. According to the report, no fuel escaped during the crash. The footage also shows the wrecked vehicles involved in the accident and residents observing the scene.
