Three 13-year-old girls in Sydney, Australia, have been arrested after reportedly partaking in what reports describe as child abuse. The trio, who are facing multiple charges, are accused of holding another teenager at knifepoint, beating, stripping, and filming her. The violent and degrading ordeal occurred when the victim, a 14-year-old girl, was waiting at a bus stop in Claymore on Friday.
Police say she was confronted by a group of girls, all of whom she is familiar with. The attackers threatened her with a knife before forcing her to another location. The group reportedly led her to Longstaff Way on foot and proceeded with their brutal assault.
According to investigators, the victim was punched, kicked, and instructed to undress. At least one of the attackers was filming the incident. As the hits continued, her attackers used a phone cord to strike her.
The attack ended when the girls snatched up her clothing, shoes, and phone and fled the scene. It is unclear if the victim sustained any injuries during the attack, as this was not mentioned by authorities based on the report.
Detectives from Campbelltown City Police Area Command quickly began searching for the suspects, with PolAir assisting in the operation. Not long after the incident, the three girls were located and taken into custody. Police also seized mobile phones believed to have been used during the incident.
One of the accused has since been charged with aggravated robbery with an offensive weapon, aggravated production of child abuse material, and possession of such material. Her accomplices face similar robbery and child abuse material charges. The names of individuals involved were not disclosed.
All three accused have since been denied bail and are due to appear before Parramatta Children’s Court. The police have not yet disclosed the motive behind the awful attack.
